Now it's official! It has been published in the media. BIGFOOT has just been captured. Reflecting on my life and the things that I am able to achieve in a day, in a week, and in the lives of others. I am so blessed to be able to touch the lives of so many. I do know how far I've come and still have to go. I'm going to change the world y'all! Regardless of my past Believe That!! Pray for me Liar, cheat & thief. However brief best believe I done dirt. Been hurt and hurt others. Stole from brothers and cursed my mother. Had and dealt strife, betrayed my wife. Risked my life. Done doin’ stupid and petty Now I’m ready. Hit my knees, bow my head. As I start could you please, Pray for me. Pray for my sins, as I begin to try again. Start a new game. Got a new quarter. Not sendin’ myself to the slaughter. Layin’ the mortar, better life for my daughter and other youngin’s that may come. Stop the get up and run and get the shit done. Close my eyes, raise my face. Feel the sun. Won’t you Pray for me. Pray for me as I build back myself and my health. Cherish my wealth in family I’m rich in love No longer a cloud above my head and no more dread in my future. I want to take time this morning to say happy birthday to the person who started me down the path of volunteering in schools. Were it not for Susan I might not have reached the one kid who helped me realize that I can make a difference in the lives of children. She's also the one who orchestrated the literacy day event yesterday where I read to the biggest groups of children today. We need a lot more educators like Susan! One's who spend hours and hours on not only personal development but on making sure that kids are excited about learning like dressing up in costumes, creating giant interactive cardboard sculptures for her school library or getting 65 million year old eggs to put on display. I love that people like you exist in this world and in my life. Thank you and I hope you have an absolutely amazing and beautiful day!

Got called into work, even though I had work to do at home I went in. At work I dealt with some micro aggressions from one man and complete crazy insane rudeness from another. Did inventory and cleaned the bar. Got home at 10:30 and still read 3 children's books, two poetry books and wrote a poem about 7 teachers and an amazing librarian so that I could give the all of the kids at Mitchell Elementary an experience they wouldn't forget. Might be tired in the morning, but going to bed with a smile on my face tonight. Goodnight Moon! #showup #volunteer #allaboutthekids

An Open Letter To My Father-Written on September 4, 2011 Sometimes I close my eyes and try to see your face. Many times I can, but others it escapes me. I can always hear your voice though. I hear it in my own and in the wisdom given to me by others. I can feel your smile in the smiles of others who are responding to the one I show to them, which you gave me. I feel your love in the love I give to my children, whom you will never meet, but they will know you. I will tell them all that I know and remember. I think about how unfair it was that you were taken from us ten years ago then I remember that “fair is where you go to ride the rides” and you weren’t taken just removed. You taught me that life goes on, and it has. Ten years of life that has changed and rearranged so much that you wouldn’t recognize a lot of it were you to come visit us now. I have finally become a man, one that I think you could be proud of. I know you were proud of me then, but I feel that I am on my way to becoming the type of man I had built you up to be. So, in my ten years without you I have discovered some truths: • You might have been my superman, but you were only a man. • Just because I am your son does not mean I MUST model my life after yours. • The life lessons you gave me could not have been given to me in any other way. • You are the best possible model of a man that I could have asked for, not just for the great things you did but also for your faults. • You were the best Dad in the whole world, until I had kids.
