Pretty exciting day today. Was there for the APS School Board statement, met a bunch of teachers, parents, administrators and lawmakers, saw some old friends, made some new ones, popped up in the background of a couple of news stories and sat down for an interview with the news. And still found time to volunteer at one school, visit another and have a Duke City Dream Lab business meeting. #fullday #showup #makeadifference

To all of my father friends with school age children.... How do you help out in your child's school? You might be a great father to your own child, but our kid's friends might not have such great support. We need to remember that ours are influenced by their peers. You could by that positive influence needed in someone else's life. We need to step up.

A special thank you to my Punk Butt, Kailin, for taking me on this journey with her. Enjoy your last day of elementary school, baby girl. I love seeing all of the back to school posts and pictures. These kids, all of them, are the reason I work so hard. PTA, Duke City Dream Lab, educational research and conversations, countless volunteer hours and nonstop child advocacy will always be on my mind and in my heart.

So, why would a teacher, who's been using the same lesson plans for 5+ years, integrate technology into the classroom when it could potentially mean more work. The tech landscape can be hard to navigate and the resources can sometimes be so fast they may not know where to begin. How do we help these teachers as well as the ones who just see tech as way too daunting?
